Last week we hosted attendees of District 9910’s first-ever online Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) course, finally giving them the opportunity to come face-to-face at a post RYLA 2022 dinner.
The Rylarians introduced themselves and two (Laura and Ellen) shared very personal and insightful poems they wrote during a session with the South Auckland Poets Collective on the first day of RYLA.
Hamish, Jessica and Lauren formed a small interview panel where they responded to predetermined questions asked by RYLA Coordinator Fay Norman. Final words came from RYLA Programme Lead, Peter Garnett.
Among the guests were District Governor Grant and Sarah Smith, Governor-Elect Matt McLeod, a number of Past Governors and invited Rotarians from the sponsoring clubs.
Most of the 2022 Rylarians have spoken to their sponsoring clubs about their RYLA experience and received a participation certificate and a Rotary Alumni Pin.
Our club is proud supporters of the RYLA programme and appreciates the effort our club members Peter Garnett and Fay Norman put into the organisation of the event.
