Rotarians from our club recently headed down to the Esk Valley, Hawke’s Bay, to help with the recovery effort.
On their return, they shared stories of their experience in the Esk Valley. All reported that the task was gigantic, and it was not until being there in person that the extent of the devastation really became clear.
There were people from all over the country giving a helping hand with some having been there for weeks, they met some incredibly special people.
The team worked hard, and the body ached, but the spirits were high as they achieved a great deal in the few days they were there.
