Last night we celebrated our Golden Anniversary and 50 years of fellowship, supporting our local community and global projects.
It was great to reconnect with people who have been involved with our club over the years and to reminisce about the many things we have actively participated in.
From building the healing garden Te Whatu Ora ‐Waitematā #northshorehospital to planting 1000s of trees across the north shore with Trees for Survival, Greenhithe Ecology Network Campbells Bay Urban Sanctuary NZ and Rangitoto College students, to cleaning up parks and reserves during #CleanUpWeekNZ, to supporting our local Whānau Āwhina Plunket groups with their Practical Solid Foods Course.
We have supported families from #timorleste whilst their child received medical attention in NZ with Romac NZ – Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children. Hosted numerous #RotaryInternationalYouthExchange students from as far as field as Finland to as diverse as Cambodia and have sponsored many NZ students for their year overseas on exchange.
We have raised funds by sizzling sausages at Kidzplay Netball Pinehurst School, hosting Regattas and Golf Tournaments in partnership with Well Foundation, marshalling the Auckland Marathon.
These are just a few of our projects.
Alongside these there has been many social activities from boat trips to Motutapu, Ten Pin Bowling, summer BBQs, and Guess who’s coming to Dinner evenings.
A great evening was had by all. Our chosen charity to support during the evening was KidsCanNZ and we raised $2500 through raffles and pledges.
